Sports Injuries, Physiotherapy and Massage Clinic

Sports Therapy is concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of the patient back to optimum levels of fitness, regardless of age and ability.

At SPRU, our Sports Injuries, Physiotherapy and Massage Clinic provides professional care to both professional and recreational athletes.

We specialise in the treatment and rehabilitation of sporting injuries, but we also treat musculoskeletal injuries of any origin, whether chronic or occupational in nature.

Our Team

Our experienced team of physiotherapists and sports therapists have an established record of working with athletes of all levels, ranging from international athletes through to recreational sportsmen and women.

Our team works closely with specialists in Sports Science to ensure every individual receives the optimal care to enhance their treatment, rehabilitation and recovery from injury.

Our Sports Physiotherapists are members of the Health and Care Professions Council and therefore recognised by a number of private medical insurers and healthcare plans.

Sports Massage Therapy

All of our therapists are experts in the application of Sports Massage. This treatment has numerous benefits and can be used for both healing and injury prevention.

This is achieved through the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues, including muscles, ligaments and tendons.

Some of the benefits of a sports massage are:

  • Improved circulation and removal of metabolic waste
  • Release in muscle tension
  • Restored balance to the musculoskeletal system
  • Enhanced recovery from muscle injuries
  • Assist in mental preparation for sporting participation

Additional services

As well as our Clinic, we offer a range of other services on request including:

Personal Gym Rehabilitation Session (1 hour): You will be assessed by a therapist and prescribed an individual rehabilitation programme to address your particular needs. Block booking sessions are available on request.

Club/Squad Injury Prevention Session: We can offer a bespoke service, and would be pleased to discuss your requirements and put together an appropriate programme. Our aim is to help develop robustness in your athletes, enabling them to perform better for longer.
