About
Before joining the University of Chichester Jon worked for West Sussex County Council. He has worked in the Youth Offending Service, Child Protection Team and the Family Resource Team, where he coordinated a team of practitioners delivering Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Jon obtained his Social Work Masters at Sussex University.
Prior to his work in the local authority, Jon worked in the NHS and the voluntary sector. His roles in the NHS focused on medical and palliative care for older people and acute adult mental health services. In the voluntary sector Jon worked with unaccompanied asylum seeking young people, indigenous young people, adults with physical and learning disabilities, and adult substance users in community and prison settings.
Jon’s interests include developing new approaches to practice education, cognitive and emotional dissonance, substance use and social policy.
