Chris Smethurst

About

Chris began his career in community work, after a spell in youth work and residential child care. Chris worked in day services with people with learning disabilities. He moved from management to field social work in 1995, where he worked in community learning disability and community mental health teams.

Chris’s writing projects include Diversity, Difference and Dilemmas (OUP/McGraw Hill, 2017) which incorporates contemporary issues such as the socio-economic disadvantages facing service users and carers seeking professional services in austere times.
