Robert is one of the artistic directors of Bootworks Theatre: a group of artists who work in a range of disciplines and contexts, and make a varied spectrum of work including devised performance, live art and children’s shows.

Bootworks deliver between four to five creative projects per year, accessing varying audiences and demographics. Alongside this they run a series of workshops and paid intern projects for young people and emergent artists.

Bootworks have two award nominations and one win for Innovation and Experimentation, from Total Theatre, are supported internationally by the British Council, and are resident artists at the ShowRoom Theatre, Chichester.

Independent projects include DIY, a book trilogy, and Tiny Live Art, a documentation project, recreating performances in HO scale models.

His first solo project; Playing with MySelf in 2003 was ACE funded and supported by The Battersea Arts Centre. scorezer0, its sequel was also funded by ACE and supported by RALP funded Choreographic Lab.

Other work includes collaborations with Jane Bacon (and red leaf dance videos) on two entries for the Video Place’s One Minute Wander dance video competition (winners 2000), premiered at Cinemarket 2001 by the Danish film institute and Bodyworks 2001 festival in Melbourne.
