Ruth Grimsdell

Associate Lecturer in Counselling

About

Ruth gained her degree in Humanistic Counselling at the University of Chichester followed in 2010 by her MA in Somatic Arts and Psychotherapy.

She is Associate Lecturer in Counselling and facilitates the PPD Groups in Years 3 and 4 of the Humanistic BA (Hons).

In her counselling practice Ruth specialises in trauma related issues combining Humanistic Counselling, Arts and Psychotherapy alongside Somatic Experiencing, which teaches simple, powerful strategies that mobilise the body`s innate self-healing systems.

Ruth underpins her work with trauma (PTSD & Complex PTSD) with the Comprehensive Resource Model (Lisa Schwarz) to enable clients to find their way back to their core “Be-ing” and to help them “re-member” their true, authentic, loving nature.

Ruth is a therapist, consultant and trainer for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and is a therapist for a charity for those who have suffered sexual violence and trauma. Otherwise she works with clients in her private practice.
